Amanda Brugel

(February 27th, 2010 - Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a quiet community located on the part of Montreal known as"the West Island. Many people unfamiliar with the word tend to think it's a separate island somewhere to the west of Montreal However, in reality this part of West Island is home to all things from Lachine west to the City of Lachine west. Amanda Brugel's birthplace has been frequently referenced, however her brief time in the city did not last long. Brugel was raised in Courtice close to Oshawa in Ontario. She was determined to be a professional dancer, but due to a rapid expansion, she surpassed the dance partners she had. An article in the Toronto Star article revealed she's 6 feet 1 inch tall and has heels. As I grew older than my male companions, I quit. Many dancers make the transition into acting. As for Brugel, it was her drama teacher who encouraged her into this path. The teacher was the one who suggested she audition as Anne in the school's annual production. The teacher who suggested that she pursue a part the school's annual show. This led to her being awarded a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship from York University. In 2000, she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts at York University. In the last 20 years, Brugel's roles in the world of television and on the screen have been numerous. Her role as Rita from the award-winning show The Handmaid's Tale was her most famous. Brugel was the sole Canadian of the season 1 actors of the series and only seen occasionally was the sole Canadian.
